BLUMHOUSE AND EPIX MAKE EIGHT FILM DEAL
By Meagan Wendler
EPIX and Blumhouse have entered into a new partnership, paving the way for eight new horror films. The first picture should arrive later this year with the other seven being released in 2022.
First on the list is A House on the Bayou, written and directed by Alex McAulay (Don’t Tell A Soul). The project is currently in the casting process and is moving into production this spring. According to sources close to the production, A House on the Bayou is slated for a December 2021 release. The story centers on a troubled couple and their preteen daughter, who journey to an isolated house in the Louisiana bayou for vacation. When unexpected visitors arrive, the family begins to unravel as terrifying secrets come to life.
Blumhouse is no stranger to television projects, with several notable partnerships, including their Welcome to Blumhouse film collection on Amazon and their highly-acclaimed Into the Dark anthology on Hulu. The new partnership between Blumhouse and Epix should give genre fans something to look forward to this holiday season.
